Vincent Lam - Registered Massage Therapist
Location: North Burnaby
Languages: English & Cantonese
After being in the finance world for over a decade, I decided to go back to school in 2004 to become a Registered Massage Therapist. I wanted to do something to help people optimize their health and fitness through activity and sport. Born in Thompson, MB, I discovered my love of sports and outdoor recreational activities. In my youth, I was regularly active in competitive sports such as hockey, soccer, baseball and football where injuries were a common occurrence. When seeking help from health care professionals, I continually searched for better and different ways to rehabilitate and recover from injuries. I believe that working with an integrated team is the best way to maximize recovery and achieve success.
As a part of an integrated team, I have been practicing since 2007 and bring many years of experience in Massage Therapy. I attained my Diploma in Massage Therapy from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Throughout my years of experience, I have had the opportunity to work with many organizations and teams, such as the Vancouver Whitecaps (USL and MLS), BC Lions, Canadian National Men’s Field Hockey Team, Vancouver Giants Hockey Club (WHL) and the PGA of BC. More recently, I have had the opportunity to work with Team Canada during the 2019 World Junior Hockey tournament. I was also one of the many practitioners who worked as part of the medical team during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
My professional interests include concussion management and treatment and ongoing research with Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). I have had many years’ experience treating not only sports related injuries, but repetitive and chronic injuries, with an objective to improving the patient’s quality of life and ability to perform daily activities. In my free time, I enjoy playing ice hockey, travelling, hiking and spending time with my family. I am fluent in English and Cantonese.
