Jean Jeong - Registered Acupuncturist

Location: Metrotown
Languages: English, Korean

I was born in Seoul, Korea, and raised in Vancouver, B.C., and I’ve always felt lucky to call this beautiful city home. After studying Business at SFU, I initially worked in real estate development. However, as I spent more time balancing long work hours and a stressful commute, I began to experience some health challenges. It was during this time that I discovered acupuncture, and it had such a positive impact on my own well-being that it inspired me to change my career path. I wanted to help others experience the same relief and healing that I had found, so I transitioned into the field of healthcare.

Treatment Philosophy
I believe in a holistic and personalized approach to healing. Every patient is unique, and I take the time to understand your lifestyle, health history, and goals. My goal is not just to treat the immediate symptoms but to address the underlying imbalances in your body that may be contributing to discomfort.

In addition to acupuncture, I use techniques like Tuina massage, heated scraping (Gua Sha), and digital cupping to create a treatment plan that’s tailored to your specific needs. This integrated approach helps to bring lasting relief and restore balance.

The First Visit
At your first appointment, you can expect a thorough consultation where I’ll take the time to listen to your concerns and understand your health goals. I prioritize clear communication and your comfort, so you’ll feel at ease throughout the process. By the end of the session, many patients feel lighter, more relaxed, and experience a noticeable reduction in pain or tension.

Areas of Interest
I’m particularly passionate about treating musculoskeletal issues, such as sciatica, piriformis syndrome, and neck/shoulder pain. Having personally dealt with piriformis syndrome, I understand how frustrating and limiting these conditions can be. Using techniques like deep needling and electroacupuncture, I work to release tight muscles, improve mobility, and help you get back to enjoying your daily activities without discomfort.

Wellness Advice!
If there’s one piece of wellness advice I’d offer, it would be to listen to your body! It’s often trying to tell you when something is off, so don’t ignore those signals. Rest when you need it, move when you can, and find ways to recharge regularly.

Outside of my work, I have four Yorkies (dogs) who I call my “stress-relief squad.” They’re always there to keep me smiling and help me unwind after a busy day.

I look forward to working with you on your health and wellness journey. Whether you’re dealing with pain, stress, or just want to improve your overall well-being, I’m here to help.
